     Hi, thanks for looking.

I am Brenda Bowers (artist) Original Fine Art Southwest Style Landscape Paintings.
I have loved the Arizona desert since we moved here in 1975 after my military spouse retired from his 21 years in  the Air Force.

I have always enjoyed selling my own works. I have been selling my fine art paintings in Arizona since 1976, having participated in numerous exhibitions over the years, both large and small. I truly enjoyed meeting all the people who purchased my paintings.
Several hundreds, (maybe thousands, I don't know) of my original oil paintings from small 5"x7" to larger 24"x36" have found their way into homes all over  Arizona and many traveled to homes in other states and even a few went to other countries.
My art images were printed by several greeting card companies as note cards and Christmas/Holiday cards, including Easter Seals.
Then in 2001, with a little help from my friend, I started my own greeting card company, La Casa Cards.  We are going strong now, beginning our 20th year, and are very popular in the Southwestern States. We sell cards wholesale (and also retail on website)
A family owned company, we print the art of my artist friends for our greeting cards
A painting is a joy but it is also hard work and very time consuming. . My process includes several steps with drying times between steps.
First a basic sketch on paper, then on canvas, next I put a first layer of paint on the sketch.
After that first layer is dry, I start the painting with the sky , mountains and basic lay of the foreground.
I block in the details like cactus , rocks, trees, flowers and wildlife (if included) after all this is dry, then I start to complete the details.
Once I am satisfied with the completed painting, it is hung on the wall of my studio to dry for a few weeks.
Then comes the framing. The frames are always new and chosen to compliment the painting.
I really hope you like what you see here as much as I enjoy painting them.

Thank you for looking!
